Key Nutrients :

SMA Lactose Free Can

All the right nutrients in the right amounts

SMA LF* contains the key nutrients in the right balance necessary for healthy growth.

Protein

Like SMA Gold*, SMA LF is whey based.

As most lactose intolerance is usually temporary, having a whey based protein is more suitable than a casein based protein.  This is because:

  • Whey is more easily digested.4-6
  • A whey formula will encourage babies to gently return to their normal feeding pattern with minimal disruption.

Nucleotides

Helping to build an infant’s immunity.

Without the right nutrients to help develop the immune system, infants may become susceptible to infection. For this reason, SMA LF contains nucleotides, which naturally occur in breast milk, to help develop the immune system.1,2

Nucleotides also promote the growth of bifidobacteria3 to help protect against problems in the gut.

Antioxidants

Protecting infant’s as they grow SMA LF also contains the antioxidants, beta-carotene and selenium, to help protect against cell damage from free radicals.
