What is it :

What is SMA LF*?

SMA LF is a clinically lactose-free formula with a whey-based protein profile similar to breast milk.

This means it won’t upset a baby’s feeding routine if the infant has to temporarily switch as well as making the transition back to the original formula easier.

SMA LF is suitable for the dietary management of primary and secondary lactose intolerance.

SMA LF is a nutritionally complete feed, which is suitable as a sole source of nutrition for infants up to six months of age, and can also be used as part of a mixed weaning diet.

It may be used for older children and adults with lactose intolerance as part of a lactose free diet.

A study has demonstrated that SMA LF provides similar nutrients and is a suitable alternative to SMA Gold for infants who require feeds containing no lactose.¹

Helping after gastroenteritis

SMA LF can help in the dietary management of post-infectious diarrhoea in bottle-fed babies, after rehydration has been achieved.

It is suitable as the sole source of nutrition for infants up to six months of age, and in conjunction with solid food, for infants and young children up to eighteen months of age. Professional advice must be followed on the need for and proper use of formulae and on all matters of infant feeding.
